About

About the shop

Bowē House is dedicated to all things home. With a thoughtfully curated selection of vintage finds, handcrafted goods, and independent publications, each piece is chosen to inspire a deeper connection to your living space. Rooted in simplicity and intentional design, this shop offers objects that bring warmth, character, and meaning to the place you call home.

Bowē is pronounced [boh-ee]—just like David Bowie, but without the "i." The name is a nod to Bauhaus, the German modernist art school that championed functional, purposeful design over unnecessary ornamentation.

This philosophy inspires the shop—where every piece is chosen with intention. When decor and furniture serve both form and function, your home becomes not just stylish, but truly comfortable.

About the owner

Bailey grew up in Eau Claire, Wisconsin, but somehow ended up in Houston, Texas. She'll tell you that's mostly because of Beyoncé. Her love for “old stuff” started young, spending Saturdays exploring antique and consignment shops, studying the history behind every piece.

Over the years, she’s worked in all kinds of shops, big and small, with the goal of opening one of her own. For her, retail has never just been about sales—it’s about creating a space where people feel welcome and connected.

Bowē House is that concept come to life—a reflection of her love for art, vintage finds, and the joy of curating a space that feels like home.
